I really love that Barak Obama went for a walk. He didn't stop for fast food (Bill Clinton) and he even bought tea instead of coffee. What better way to promote physical activity than to have our president literally walking the walk?! I know Michelle must be proud. It's so hard for me to get my family outside, so it must seem almost impossible for her. Of course the Obama family has access to trainers and elite workout buddies like Beyonce and Jay-Z, but that's not something the general public can relate to. The general public is often very busy and littered with debt; we cannot afford the cost of living, let alone healthy living. We need to be motivated in ways that we can emulate and walking is free. I like seeing our president walk!
My son said he wanted to enjoy Subway, "before Michelle Obama puts her face all over it." I told him that they could put a picture of an actual butt on it and I'd still eat it as long as it was good. My son's school leans towards the Republican Party and my parents are republicans. I personally do not have a firm political position. I do stand firm on the fact that you should not hate someone who is wearing shoes that you cannot even begin to imagine filling. Judge away, but don't hate. I have respect for our president, even more so after seeing him walk the talk of getting fit. I'd like to see future presidents do the same. If the most hated president in all of history can safely walk down the street without fear, it should be no problem for future presidents to feel safe as well.
