Recording my exercises in my book has been very helpful. I'd like to show my book to a trainer to get a professional perspective on the best way to record my data. I'd also like to have a professional opinion on how I'm using my elliptical, like how often/how long I should use it, whether or not I'm stepping the right way on it, what my heart rate should be...etc. I'm just winging it. I could make a video and ask people, but my channel isn't all that popular and I don't like yahoo answers because people tend to be clueless and rude more often than intelligent and helpful.
My back thigh didn't hurt anymore when I woke up this morning and it doesn't hurt now. When I was a much bigger girl, I used to get knots in the back of my lower calves from walking. Occasionally, I feel that when I walk too fast and it brings back good memories. I try to avoid it, but sometimes it happens. I'm guessing the upper back thigh ache is similar to that since it went away rather quickly. Speaking of back in the day, I was just telling my bf about how I used to get awful thigh burns when I used to walk as a big girl. Seriously, I'd get a strip of a purple and blue bruise or a dried blood strip on each inner thigh. It was so bad! I had a habit of walking as far as I could and then turning around only when I was exhausted. Mama worked all day and daddy worked all night, so I had to walk all the way back from the way I came. Usually, this would be a little over 1.5 to 2 miles each way. I just enjoyed the peace, watching people come and go without having to talk to them. I'm the same way these days, but I now wave hello when they see me staring.
I know that elliptical machines don't work your abs, but I am feeling a small workout in my abdominal muscles. I read that the best abdominal exercises do not require any machines. I really need to find a daily abdominal routine. My cardio workout seems to be a pretty steady routine now. I look forward to putting in my (was 50, but now) 40 minutes of cardio each day. I love adding more weight and speed and burning more calories according to the machine. Those machines are never correct because they don't know my height, weight, age, or heart rate. However, they are consistent for the purpose of recording data.
I have some time before I get my fat pincher to look for an abdominal workout routine. My bf did not take my body measurements today, btw. Maybe we'll do that on Wednesdays. It seems like a lot of my goals cost money. An abdominal exercise routine shouldn't cost anything but time. I'm a little intimidated to find one because I'm extremely out of shape in my tummy. It's going to be hard. Plus choosing one is going to require some trust in so,some else's guidance, some random stranger who doesn't know what the workout could do to me. It's not like walking; I've done that for years and years. An abdominal workout will be new and difficult. I'm not looking forward to it. Still, I should find one now that my daily cardio has become a good routine. If it gets too hard on me, I can always rotate days/Do abdominals one day and cardio the next. I just need to go for it. Nobody is going to motivate me or applaud me either way. That's up to me to do for myself. I just have to go for it!
I calculated 6,587 steps and 1.23 miles for today. That's not bad at all considering that I did not wear my pedometer while I used the treadmill.
