My vacation or break had no impact on my elliptical training. If anything, I think I kept my speed up a little more. I did a lot of toying with the resistance during my workout because I wasn't sure what I could handle after sch a long break. My treadmill walking pace was easy to maintain at 3.3-3.4 mph. The break had no effect on my stride and pace. Im shocked that the sodas and wicked diet had a minuscule impact on my scale. I thought for sure I'd be way over 120 pounds (my start weight). I think I may have gained a pound or maybe I didn't. I don't know because my liar weight is 115 pounds. Scales kind of scare me. I'd be very interested in viewing my weight on my doctor's scale.
I'm trying to incorporate running into my treadmill time. It took me about three minutes to recoup after one minute of running, so I averaged about 3-4 minutes of running in the two times of 10 minutes of treadmill. It's actually easier for me to run faster for that minute than to jog it. I'm going to participate in a 5k in the end of September. I do not intend to run it at all, but I do want to get used to the motion of running. When I run gravity yanks me down, the top half of my body weighs forward in bad posture, I don't know whether to land on the front or back of my feet, and my breath becomes way too heavy to maintain my speed. These are all things that I hope to work out on my own by continuing to run for short one minute intervals. The inner part of my left foot hurt a little while I was running. Now the inner top ball of my left foot hurts. I bet this has everything to do with posture. I just need to take it slow and steady.
I think I may change up my routine to 10 and 10 of elliptical and 20 straight minutes of treadmill. That way, I can do three minutes of brisk walking and one minute running for a larger time gap. Plus this will change things up for my body's endurance to the predictability. I need to find out more information on 5k "independent sponsorship." I will gladly pay the $25 donation for registration, but I want to raise more funds for the local walking trail.
