Btw, today when I checked my pulse going forward full speed, it said 45 and then 55. That's absolute BS because I could feel it beating faster than 4 beats per second.
I did my normal 10 minutes treadmill, 20 forward elliptical, and 10 minutes more treadmill. Then I tried for as long as I could to go backwards on the elliptical. After only 3 minutes on a resistance level of 8, I was dying, so I pushed myself to 4 minutes and clocked in 51 calories. I'm just going to keep track of how long I can go, like i did when i first started walking on the treadmill. My goal is ten minutes of reverse elliptical, but its going to be a while before I get to that. Going backwards is a lot harder than going forward! It will only bring my cardio time up to 50 minutes total. That's reasonable for me. Challenge accepted!
I started using "My Fitness Pal" again. Back in the day, I found it extremely difficult to survive off of the nutritional limitations. I do live a sedentary life, but I clean rapidly every day and that wasn't calculated in. I also used to walk quite a bit from my second story unit to about a mile round trip, which I never calculated in. I always felt like I was starving myself to death on limited amounts of fruits and high protein salads. Every time I start using this app again, I promise myself weird changes, like how I will only use it as a diary or I won't press myself to stay under every allowance category...This app was starving me into headaches, sluggishness, and depression. I don't really care about the calories. I love eating what I love to eat and that's not going to change. I just want to see a clear outline of what kind of foods I'm eating regularly. I'm not going to perminently starve myself to fit some chart on an app. I'm just going to eat my regular foods all day and then enter them in at the end of the day...just to see what happens.
We're planning a week long vacation and that means a week off from exercise. It'll probably be good for me, since I tend to be obsessive compulsive. I'm not going to turn into a blimp full of jello after just one week. I'll be ok. Still, it does bother me a bit that I'll be away from my machines for a whole week. I'm going to map out a walking route that'll give me 0.56 miles to and from, so that I can at least do some kind of regular exercise once a day. I'm not sure what the weather will be like, but its usually pretty chilly early in the mornings there and I like walking in the morning. I already tried to convince my beau to take me to one of the hotels for an hour in the evening, but he said no. If I gave a desk clerk $30, I'm 100% certain they'd let me use their equipment for the whole week. I'm not done brainstorming though. Maybe one of his friends has some trainer equipment or perhaps the town with no library has gotten a gym...I want MY machines! Most girls worry about packing makeup and shoes. I just want my elliptical. Its going to be weird not being able to use them.
