I cannot believe that my birthday is tomorrow! I hope I'm ready to be 32 because I have a busy week ahead:
Friday - RiverFest and my actual birthday
Saturday - my party. Mama is taking the kid and my party is from 7pm to 1am
Sunday - my very first 5K at 2pm
Monday - an afternoon appointment with mama
Tuesday - Time Warner is taking over our home service between 8am- 9am
Wednesday - The boy has a 2 hr early release and a Dr appointment in Greensboro at 5. We'll probably have Cici's after that. The follow-up is on October 8th, when he has off school for a teacher's workshop.
So, about this video, I'm very proud of my jiggly thighs. I know what you're thinking, 'She's proud to jiggle?" Yes,yes I am! When I look at this from a stranger's perspective, I see a 23 year old girl in average shape. Knowing myself, I'm impressed to be a 32 year old with a teenage son who appears to look 23. I am SO reversing the order of my candles! I weigh as much as I did when I was 23, so why not claim my Wii Fit age?! I don't just see my jiggle. I also see the muscular curve above my knees and the way my once-tight top fits me perfectly now. I see my entire body jiggle less than it once did when I was ten pounds heavier.
I've lost 8.33% of my body weight. That's like a 150 pound person losing 13 pounds. Measurements are more important, right? Well, I've lost almost 3" in each thigh and 4"-6" (depending on the time of month) in my true waistline.
Before I dedicated myself to exercising, my thighs didn't jiggle; they swayed. They moved and rocked as a whole solid piece of fatty mass. I'm not done rebuilding my body. I'm still doing squats and aerobics, which I wasn't doing as diligently before. This skin will tighten up and solidify over time...hopefully. I believe that its important to document the good, the bad, and the ugly. This is probably the ugly, I guess. Shield thine eyes from the wretched imperfections of the flesh that are known only as jiggly thighs! Hide your children, but no need to hide your husbands (tear). Haha, really though, I never took pictures of my legs before. Had I done so, I could've shared an amazing difference. I'm also finding changes in my back that I'd never seen before, like the crease up my spine that I call a "back crack" and the butt dimples I had previously deemed inevitable cellulite. Who looks at their back before they need to watch their form?
I'm really enjoying my adventures in weight management. It's wonderful to be able to say I weigh as much as I did when I was in my early 20's. I'm really proud of myself, even though I'm not perfect. Heck, I never will be. It feels good to be able to share my imperfections because I can appreciate that they've changed and I can believe that they will change even more by investing more time and dedication into doing so.
