Could you imagine me at 98 pounds? Eww! Losing 22 pounds is not my goal. Again, eww! If I get below 110, I look sickly and my face appears sunken in. I just wanted to share this. Maybe someone else will be able to find it realistic.
I punched it 1,300 calories a day as my maximum projected allowance on MyFitnessPal. I needed to increase my proteins to compensate the exercise. They make the carbs, proteins, and fats calculate 100%, so I had to lower my fat to 15%, protein up to 35%, and carbs staying the same at 50%. Those yummy carbohydrates keep me from fainting, losing my hearing, and having blackouts aka diabetic shock. I am not a diabetic; I just have warning symptoms of diabetic shock if I don't consume enough carbohydrates.
With this calculator in mind, I ran over to a BMI calculator to find out if that was on track:
I started my day off by reviewing yesterday's food consumption. It reflected that I did not eat enough proteins, which I blame on our super low food budget. At least the kid eats well. I cooked myself an egg (no grease or butter) with pepper (no salt), and two Tennessee Pride sausage biscuits. I didn't eat the bread, but I left it in the food diary anyway because I don't know how to remove them from the total calories of the food. I'm sure I'll sneak a cookie or something to balance it out.
I added something new to my workout, I mean besides the reverse step on the elliptical. I read online that hula hooping burns about 7 calories per minute. I love to use my hula hoop! I turned on my stopwatch and swiveled for 9 minutes straight. Then I subtracted one minute for preparation. 8 minutes x 7 calories per minute = 56 calories burned. I'm going to add this to the end of my workout as a cool down. I get so sweaty when I do my cardio and hula hooping lets that sweat dry a little before I run upstairs to shower. So here's an update of my exercise logs:
My bf and I were talking about my exercising during the trip. We may go to the health food store to look for a weight vest. He suggested that I bring my hand and leg weights to walk, which is a wonderful idea. I always preach that walking a mile and running a mile burn the same calories, so my speed doesn't matter as long as I walk a mile. The diverse terrain will do me some good too. I figure I'll take the dog with me and get his pudgy butt a workout too. It will be nice, secluded, peaceful...I feel better about being away from my equipment now, but I still want a weight vest. I really don't want to come back home feeling like a "jello blimp," as I've been calling my prediction.
I found a great article about the benefits of "retro walking" or walking backwards:

I just wanted to share that.
